1. How do we know the Bible is true?
Making up wild stories is one thing. Being found out is another. How do we know the Bible is true? Can we put our confidence in the message it carries?
The New Testament gospels were written within the lifetime of when the events actually took place. There would have been a huge outcry if the accounts described had no credibility. But that didn’t happen. In fact, the more we discover information about the ancient world the more we see what is written in the Bible being verified! That’s the truth!
There are two other thoughts. The first is simply this: The Bible was written over a period of approximately six thousand years and by over forty different authors, yet the central theme of God’s plan of salvation for mankind runs like a piece of fine thread woven into a garment. Now that is something quite amazing.
The second incredible fact is that millions of lives have been touched, affected and changed through reading this text. Maybe this isn’t so surprising if the Bible is what it claims to be, that is the living Word of God. The world’s best seller which has changed the course of countless lives.
If you are still unconvinced please do yourself a huge favour……read it; but be warned, it may change your life, and that’s the truth. |
