9. Is there a heaven and a hell?
Yes.
Okay, so you’re not entirely happy with that answer and you would like a little more information. That’s a reasonable request but before I expound, its important to note that there is a point to expound from.
Jesus talked about heaven and warned us about hell. In fact, He spoke more the subject of hell than He did about heaven. Why?
Because he loved us and wants to warn us about it and tell us what we need to do to avoid ending up there. One of the most famous verses in the Bible says…
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever should believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
The concept of hell is one of the hardest to grasp. How can a loving God send people to such a hateful place? Maybe the truth is that because God is a loving He allows people to go where they choose. C.S.Lewis once said “…in the end it is either God’s will be done or your will be done.” God sent us a Saviour to save us BUT we must make the connection or live with the consequences of our choices……for eternity.
