The Leaders and What They Do
The Leaders of Kainos are Steven Howe, Peter Ferguson and Phil Mansfield.
Who does what?
We are all three equal leaders of Kainos; but within that each carrying different aspects of the church through our different complimentary motivations.
|

Steven Howe
|
Steven carries the vision and outward mission of the church, ensuring unity through bringing to Kainos the sacrament of Communion. This mission vocation is not so much about preaching and programs but about living the message of hope and showing that Christians can bring the Kingdom of God to people through practical living and instruction.
He is married to Andrea and they have 4 children.

Pete looks great but we haven't cornered him for a photo yet!
Peter Ferguson
|
Peter carries the life and inward outworking of the church, e.g. worship, office, devotional and pastoral. Pete has a heart for people and a heart for prayer.
He is married to Karen and they have 2 teenage boys.

Phil Mansfield
|
Phil carries the practical, the organisational and helping the church to understand the vision and mission, also supporting and encouraging Steve and Pete to bring their vocations to the heart of the church. Phil has a heart to serve and an enabling gift.
He is married to Sue and has 3 children and an MGF.
|
We share the responsibility of leadership - relational and vocational - alongside other full and part-time work 'outside' of church. Vocational, because we believe church leaders should be appointed and recognised because of a calling of vocation, not because of it being a job or a role.
We are modelling availability, vulnerability and authenticity through getting to know who we are, how we tick and what our giftings are, not just what we can do; i.e. we are leaders because we carry the heartbeat, the emotion and the weight of that calling wherever we are. In the people we are, we bring to this both natural and spiritual giftings.
Accountability
We are an independent church, with our statement of faith and belief similar to that of the Evangelical Alliance. We are shaping the church with the help of a good friend of ours Rev John Skinner and the Emigre Foundation in Turkey.
