Who are Kainos Christian Fellowship?

The name ‘Kainos’ was given prophetically to this church in 1995. The word ‘Kainos’ comes from Greek and means “new” as in something which is unaccustomed or unused. A good example of its meaning can be seen in Mark 2:22.  “And no-one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins.”  Kainos Christian Fellowship has a calling and a responsibility always to be looking towards God for the “new thing” and responding to it.  We believe every member, regardless of age, is unique and special to God and would encourage each person to find and develop their own role in the fellowship.  The core beliefs of the fellowship are highlighted in our Statement of Faith and our Vision.

We are exploring how we can be a 21st century church alongside the richness of the old monastic traditions, in what is called New Monastic. We are working alongside Emigre Foundation to explore this further.
