Youth [14-18 Years]
For many years now ‘youth’ have been at the heart of Kainos. This is because we passionately believe in building God’s ‘church’ for tomorrow. We believe that God has a real heart for young people, and that they can accomplish so much more than we know.
Youth work in Kainos is a strange area, as it’s done by the youth for the youth. What I mean by this is that the older young people look after the younger, in addition to this we encourage peer support groups so that the youth get along side each other offering support, love, and friendship.
Basically our hearts desire is to not just run activities which keep the kids busy, but to get alongside them and through the power of relationships encourage them as they develop and struggle through this personal journey that is Christianity. We do not think kids should ‘be seen and not heard’, we believe that they are the present and the future and that God uses them powerfully.
As you read through this area of our site, I’m sure that the focus on community and the applying of faith into real life will jump out at you. This is because we’re all about being real with each other and the struggles each of us face. Life can be hard so it’s time to get stuck in.
