Adult Small Group Communities

The Values of Small Group Communities are as follows...

Jesus at the centre:  We believe that Jesus is alive today and relevant to our everyday lives. Everything we do must be centered on Him, so that we may know Him and experience Him more.

Every member growing:  Christianity is not an end but a process. Constantly both our character and our relationship with Jesus need to grow and mature. Within our small groups we need to challenge and encourage one another to wrestle with our problems, outwork our beliefs and become more like Jesus.

Every member in ministry:  From the oldest to the youngest, we all have something to offer. We all have a part to play. Community life can only thrive when all contribute.

Every member on mission:  Living small groups reproduce and multiply, we too exist to multiply. As we live out these values we will make an impact on our friends and communities and will see them added to our small groups. Every small group member needs to take a responsibility to have a network of non-Christian friends that they are looking to introduce to Jesus.

Honesty and Openness:  The priority for every member should be a growing sense of openness and honesty, a greater commitment to people rather than structures and a greater commitment to 'speaking the truth in love'.

Sacrificial Love:  The priority here is to see others through the eyes of Jesus, to model our lives on the life of Jesus love for others and to provide a 'safe' place for this value to be worked out.

Community:  We look to establish small groups of people of all ages 'sharing life'. Meeting together both regularly and informally, sharing possessions, sharing all. There must be life outside of formal meetings.
